T1 Browser Extension Privacy Notice
Last Updated:
July 16, 2026
This T1 Browser Extension Privacy Notice (the "Notice") describes how Tekion Corp. ("Tekion," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the T1 Browser Extension (the "Extension"). This Notice supplements and should be read together with the Tekion Privacy Notice for Customers and End Users. In the event of any conflict between this Notice and our main Privacy Notice, this Notice shall govern with respect to your use of the Extension.
Please read this Notice carefully. By installing, accessing, or using the Extension, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Notice. If you do not agree to this Notice, please do not install or use the Extension.
1. What the T1 Browser Extension Does
The T1 Browser Extension is an ARC-connected browser extension that allows authorized users to interact with Tekion's ARC platform and with content outside of ARC. The Extension does not have its own login. Instead, when you are logged into ARC and have the required "T1 Browser Extension" permission enabled, the Extension becomes available for use and provides AI-assisted capabilities, including:
- Asking questions and receiving AI-generated responses
- Performing limited external web-based actions, such as web scraping or summarization of external web content
The Extension only functions when you are actively logged into ARC and have the specific "T1 Browser Extension" permission enabled within your ARC account settings. If you log out of ARC, the Extension session is automatically terminated. Without both the ARC login and the required permission, the Extension will not operate.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information through the Extension:
2.1 Information You Provide or Generate Through the Extension
- Queries and prompts you submit through the Extension interface ("User Prompts")
- AI-generated responses provided to you by the Extension ("Extension Outputs")
- Any feedback, you provide about Extension Outputs
- Conversations history within the Extension, which may be stored in your T1 conversation history.
2.2 Page Content and Browsing Data
Page content is transmitted to Tekion's servers only when you explicitly choose to add it by selecting the 'Page Context' option (via the + icon) within the Extension interface. When you interact with the Extension on a web page — whether by asking a question, requesting a summary, or explicitly adding the page using the "Page Context" option (via the +icon) — certain information about that page is transmitted to Tekion's servers so the Extension can process your request:
- The URL of the page you are interacting with
- Text content from that page (collectively, "Page Content")
- Metadata about the page, such as page title and structure
If the web page you interact with contains personal information (such as customer names, contact details, or financial information), that information may be captured as part of the Page Content. We recommend exercising caution when using the Extension on pages that display sensitive personal information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected through the Extension for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Extension's functionality, including processing your queries and generating responses
- To verify your access authorization based on your active ARC Web login and enabled T1 Browser Extension permission. The Extension does not provide a direct or separate login — it relies entirely on your existing ARC Web session for authentication.
- To maintain your T1 conversation history and allow you to review past interactions
- To improve the Extension's performance, reliability, and user experience
- To detect, prevent, and investigate security incidents, fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from government authorities, if any.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share or disclose information collected through the Extension in the following circumstances:
- With Your Organization: If your ARC account is managed by a dealership or organization administrator, certain usage information or conversation history may be accessible to authorized administrators within your organization.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tekion, our users, or the public.
- With Your Consent: We may share information with third parties when you have given us your explicit consent to do so.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
You may delete any conversation from your T1 conversation history at any time through the Extension interface. Upon deletion, the conversation is immediately removed from your visible history.
6. Security and Access Controls
Tekion implements administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information collected through the Extension. Access to backend system logs containing conversation data is restricted to authorized Tekion personnel on a need-to-know basis. All access is subject to audit logging and Tekion's information security policies.
7. Your Choices and Controls
You have the following choices regarding the Extension:
- Enable or Disable the Permission: You can enable or disable the "T1 Browser Extension" permission within your ARC account settings at any time. Disabling the permission will prevent the Extension from functioning, even if you remain logged into ARC.
- Log Out of ARC: Logging out ofARC will automatically terminate your Extension session.
- Uninstall the Extension: You can remove the Extension from your browser at any time through your browser's extension management settings.
- Delete Conversation History: You can delete individual conversations or your entire conversation history through the Extension interface.
We recommend exercising caution when using the Extension on pages that display sensitive personal information, such as financial records, credit applications, or protected health information.
8. Changes to This Privacy Notice
We may modify this Notice from time to time, in which case we will update the "Effective Date" at the bottom of this Notice. If we make material changes to the way in which we collect, use, or disclose information, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you, such as by posting a notice within ARC or the Extension. If you do not agree to any updates to this Notice, please discontinue use of the Extension and remove it from your browser.
